In relation to the HOOCH project, the IFR focuses on research and development relevant to the exploitation of agri-food chain residues and co-products with special reference to the production of bioalcohol.

The IFR research objectives are to develop a greater understanding of how to breakdown plant-derived structures to provide fermentable mono and oligosaccharides.
